This notice concerns cookies and similar browser storage on HerCV — The Course of a Life. A cookie is a small value a site asks a browser to return on later requests. Browser storage and server-side records are not the same thing.
What the reading theme does
The HerCV theme does not set an advertising or analytics cookie. Its mobile menu, reading-progress line and disclosure questions work without persistent browser storage. Fonts and homepage illustrations are hosted locally rather than requested from a font CDN.
Forms, WordPress and delivery
The contact check uses signed hidden fields and server-side, short-lived anti-abuse records rather than an external captcha. Those records are not browser cookies. WordPress login functions may set authentication or preference cookies for authorised users. Hosting, security and cache components may use technical cookies depending on configuration, particularly where a request cannot be served from a public cache.
This is not a complete inventory of every cookie a plugin or hosting configuration might introduce. If an optional analytics, advertising or embedded-content feature is added, its data use and any required consent controls need to be assessed before activation. A cache cookie is not, by itself, consent to optional tracking.
Your browser’s controls
You can inspect, block or delete stored site data in your browser. Blocking essential storage may prevent login or other functions from working. Visiting a source link takes you to a different site with its own storage practices. For a concern about a value you see on hercv.com, send its name and the page URL through Contact; do not send authentication tokens or cookie contents.
